Episode 22: Tarzan and the Huntress (1947)

Download MP3

Noel and Michael are joined by Tim from the CinemaSpection podcast to discuss Johnny Sheffield's last film as Boy. In many ways, Tarzan and the Huntress is a return to form for the series. Noel, Michael, and Tim talk about whether or not that's a good thing.

  4. Looking forward to your review. It's pretty much a disaster and Johnny was quite out of shape but still fun to watch.

  5. I recently discovered "Greystoked" and have been enjoying it very much. Looking forward to the Mermaids show. It's been a nice trip through the Weissmuller years.

  6. Huntress was probably the RKO film that with highest chemistry between Tarzan and Jane. Perhaps in contrast to the MGM films, RKO kind of de-emphasized the romance and love between them. In the previous Leopard Woman film, aside from a sweet hand holding walk, Tarzan and Jane barely touch. At least in Huntress there are a couple of frolicking scenes between the two. A shame, because I personally prefer Brenda Joyce as Jane & think steamy chemistry with Tarzan as in the MGM films would have been great for the series.

  7. Love love love your podcast! Hope it will come back someday for the 50s Tarzan movies, especially going into the Sy Weintraub era, which is my favorite. Stay safe guys! :)
